Skiing at Keystone with friends

Don Hansen shot these rare pictures of me skiing.

I've done a lot of playing with my artistic filters. The thumbnail will open a page with a picture that'll fit on your screen. The hi-res is the full resolution of the camera (although most have been cropped a bit) and most are very large. If you plan to print, definitely use the high res version. Also, the art effects look better at full size - shrinking them sometimes destroys the effect.

I have a few more of all of you - I'll try to get to them in the next few weeks. I'll send another note when I do. I haven't forgotten Louie (who does for me at Breck what Craig does for me at Keystone) - I'll definitely get to them soon.

It's no coincidence that all my best days at Keystone are following Craig. I just try to hang on...

These pages are set up so that clinking a picture opens it in a new window. You can either just close the window, or flip back and forth between the picture windows and this thumbnail window. If you click a bunch of thumbnails, you can then go to the picture window and click the forward and back buttons to scroll through the pictures. Somehow I'm never able to make this instruction clear to people - if so, just close the picture window and you'll be back on this page.

The Schweitzers - it's always a pleasure to ski with you two.

This artsy shot looked like crap in reduced size - so this is a huge high-res pic. And, by the way, these kinds of pictures look better printed. I print them on textured art paper that absorbs the ink in such a way that the look hand painted. Let me know if you see something you like.

Do you remember how Ron ran away from everybody on the flats this day? He explained, that besides being light on his feet, he was using some amazing Hertel wax that was out of production and only occasionally available on ebay. I went to ebay, and found none for sale. I googled it, and was surprised to see that they are in fact in business. You can find them at hertelskiwax.com. My block's on the way - next year I'll be able to chat with Ron on the runout from the Outback trees.

The first two pics are the normal photographs of Ron on his old knees from the 1940's - the next two are a couple of "paintings". Next season, on his new 2006 model knees, I expect to see Ron's feet about 18 inches farther to the outside of his turn and his hip almost touching the snow.

I've got at least one more good one of Don Hanson.
